Insights: Tanne Snowden, Founder + CEO

Why now and why you?

Many luxury skincare brands focus almost exclusively on the face, but the truth is, our bodies deserve the same level of care and attention. The skin on our body makes up over 85%-90% of our skin’s surface area and plays a crucial role in protection, detoxification, and overall health. Yet it’s often overlooked in daily routines.

Body skin experiences many of the same concerns as facial skin: dryness, loss of firmness, scarring, discoloration, and signs of aging. It’s also exposed to environmental stressors, UV damage, and hormone-related changes. Neglecting it means missing the opportunity to care for this vital organ in a meaningful, results-driven way.

High-quality, science-backed ingredients shouldn't stop at the jawline. Your body deserves clinically effective, nontoxic formulas that nourish, protect, and rejuvenate, just as your face does. From post-surgical scars to stretch marks, hormonal changes, or simple dryness, the body has unique needs that deserve targeted solutions.

Elevating bodycare to a luxury ritual helps shift the mindset from basic moisturization to intentional, full-body skincare. It's not just about how you look—it's about how you feel in your skin, from head to toe. True luxury is taking care of your whole self.

What fuels your competitive advantage?

At Tronque, striking the balance between indulgence and efficacy is at the heart of everything we do. From day one, it was important that our products not only felt beautiful to use, but delivered real, visible results backed by science. I didn’t want to compromise on either—and I don’t believe anyone should have to.

We start by sourcing the most potent, clinically researched ingredients. These ingredients are selected not just for their performance but for their safety profile and ability to work in harmony with the body. Every formulation is built with intention, focusing on active concentrations that are proven to be effective—never just for label appeal.

At the same time, the sensory experience is deeply considered. The texture, scent, absorption, and packaging all play a role in making Tronque products feel like a true ritual. Skincare shouldn’t feel clinical or cold—it should feel like self-care. We’ve designed every product to be something you look forward to using, while knowing you’re also supporting your long-term skin and hormonal health.

That balance—between clean science and luxurious self-indulgence—is what makes Tronque different. We’re here to prove that you can have both: formulas that feel exquisite and perform at the highest standard, without compromising your well-being.

What are you most proud of accomplishing to date?

Our incredible global retail partnerships and product award wins. Also hearing the most glowing customer feedback and personal stories.

What is the one thing you wish someone had told you?

That building a beauty brand is less about products and more about endurance.

I wish someone told me that the real work begins after the formula is perfect. Product development is just the starting line. What follows is a marathon of educating consumers, navigating global logistics, crafting your brand voice, protecting your IP, building retailer relationships, and showing up consistently when no one’s watching. The emotional stamina required is immense. You’ll need clarity, conviction, and a deep reason why, because some days, that purpose is the only thing that keeps you going.

"The beauty industry is incredibly progressive and ever evolving. As a founder, I believe the beauty industry needs to evolve away from perfectionism and performance and toward education, care, and integrity."
By Tanne Snowden, Founder + CEO, Tronque

What would you tell your past self before starting this journey?

Don’t wait for everything to be perfect; start and refine as you go. I spent so much time trying to perfect every detail, waiting until every element felt flawless. But perfection is a moving target, and momentum matters more than meticulousness. There’s magic in learning through doing. The brand will evolve and so will you. What matters most is that you begin.

What does success look like in the next 3-5 years?

In the next 3-5 years, success looks like a global community that understands the value of bodycare as an essential part of whole-body wellness, not a secondary afterthought. It’s seeing Tronque on the shelves of leading luxury retailers and in the routines of people who prioritize skin health from head to toe. It’s growing without compromise: expanding our reach while remaining fiercely committed to biotechnology, sustainability, and New Zealand provenance. Most of all, success is when Tronque’s mission to elevate and destigmatize bodycare becomes part of the global beauty conversation.

Tronque is just getting started. We see enormous potential to expand across several key areas, all aligned with our mission to elevate bodycare through science, sustainability, and self-empowerment.

What's one industry trend that is overhyped, and what's being overlooked?

Overhyped: Skinimalism

While the idea of simplifying routines sounds appealing, the reality is fewer products don’t always mean better skin, especially when it comes to the body, which has different needs than the face. Oversimplification can lead to neglect, especially in areas prone to scarring, hormonal changes, or environmental stress.

Overlooked: Bodycare as preventative skincare

We obsess over facial serums and actives, but bodycare remains underserved. The skin below the neck is just as dynamic, prone to aging, inflammation, and damage. Preventative, science-backed bodycare isn’t a luxury; it’s the next frontier in holistic skin health.

How do you think the industry needs to evolve?

The beauty industry is incredibly progressive and ever evolving. As a founder, I believe the beauty industry needs to evolve away from perfectionism and performance and toward education, care, and integrity. Beauty can be about fixing, concealing, or meeting impossible standards. But real beauty lies in how we care for ourselves; not just our faces, but our whole bodies. Respecting bodycare with the same scientific rigor and innovation we apply to facial skincare means championing efficacy over hype, transparency over trends, and embracing skincare as a tool for long-term health, not just short-term transformation. This is the future we're building with Tronque.

If you could wave a magic wand, what one wish would you make for your business?

I would fast-forward global understanding of how powerful bodycare truly is. I’d erase the idea that it’s secondary to facial skincare and replace it with deep awareness that the skin below the neck deserves the same science, respect, and ritual. I’d wish for Tronque to be at the forefront of that shift: trusted not just for beautiful products but for changing the way people think about their bodies.
